"Transitional Style Commode From The Riesener Model, Executed In The Late 19th Century"
Louis XV - Louis XVI style transitional central chest of drawers, opening on the front with two rows of drawers without visible transom and a third row with three drawers is revealed belt by a secret (push-button). Built of oak, marquetry on a mahogany background with sycamore flowers in a geometric shape, the whole is enriched with a decoration of chiseled and gilded bronzes ornamented with foliated interlacing, jewels, beaded rings , drops of acanthus leaves. It rests on four curved legs ending in a slight winding. A marble top breach of Saint-Maximin headdress all. Chest of great quality, finely chiseled bronzes, Parisian manufacture of the late nineteenth century. Some small accidents in the veneer, gilding worn for bronzes, two small chips of marble at the back of each side.
