Dutch School XVIIth, Entourage De Van Schooten: Woman In The Kitchen (139 X 103,5 Cm)

Floris van Schooten (circa 1585 - 1665) is a Dutch painter of the golden century, well known for his still life paintings. In this large oil on canvas, our gaze is primarily on the still life composed of various foods placed on the table, then on the stove busy preparing a fish while looking at us. This richly garnished table is an invitation to contemplation and an ode to opulence. A niche in the wall with dishes gives depth to this beautiful scene. This painting has been reentoile.
