This great still life is made alive by the realism of the objects represented, an opened fruit and the knife that we just used, the kettle with golden reflections, the earthen jug with the glazed collar and the tablecloth that we have moved involuntarily leaving the table at the end of lunch. The composition is illuminated by the white tablecloth that highlights the warm colors of the utensils that are still at the table.
