"Claude Verdier, Olivier Front Sainte-victoire."
Great landscapes with dry stone walls, close-ups of tree trunks or branches, studies of shells or hazelnuts, all are a hymn to nature but also to creation in the broad sense, to "this quivering life that circulates inside the materials ". A former student of André Lhote, a theater designer and engraver, Claude Verdier devoted a part of his life to observing the secret harmony of the landscapes that surrounded his house in Goudargues, in the Gard. Celebrated during his lifetime, he has benefited from several exhibitions in Paris and abroad, followed by a retrospective at the Musée d'Uzès and Galerie Antoine Villeneuve in Paris in 2017.
