If the animals and the character are particularly well treated, the landscape is nonetheless an essential element, in the character at the same time intimist by the presence of the small house but also grandiose by the beauty of the site framed by imposing mountains.

Tristan Lacroix was born in 1862 in Périgueux in Dordogne. Animal painter, landscape, still life, sculptor. He participated in the Salon of Paris from 1883 to 1895 obtaining an honorable mention in 1883 for painting and in 1886, for sculpture. Bronze medal at the World Exhibition of 1889. He often animates his landscapes of animals.
Listed on the Bénézit and '' the little masters of Schurr's painting.
