"Black Powder Horn, Carved With Knife, Austria Nineteenth"
Beautiful powder horn, flattened horn sleeve, is fully engraved with penknife, scales and rosettes. The underside is wood, the top, forming spout is beautifully engraved with a rosette on one side, and what seems to be a sign of well-drawn recognition of the other. Nice wooden stopper, original. Alpine work, Austria, probably Tyrol, antique work at least nineteenth. Very good quality, we do not often see so successful.
Condition: Good, a fault: pierced at angle, see photo.
