"Alexandre Kostanda, Speckled Decor Pitcher"
Alexandre Kostanda (1921-2007) is one of the most famous artists of Vallauris. He started before the war at Giraud, then worked at Cluny during the war, became a professor at Macon where he trained the youth of Accolay, and returned to Vallauris and opened his studio in 1953. He made a beautiful set of decorations, abstracts, geometric, Africanist or speckled like the latter. This pitcher has a fairly classic shape but the surprise lies in the effective pourer. It is in perfect condition.
