Student of Bouguereau, Robert-Fleury and Lefebvre, William Laparra trained at the Académie Julian in 1892 and won the Prix de Rome at the age of 22 with his work The Pool of Bethsaida.
He represents here the city of Bordeaux, seen since the property of La Buttinière, located on the right bank of the Garonne, in Lormont. This property belonged to Maurice and Blanche Larue.
The works of William Laparra are preserved in several national museums.
