"Compagnie Des Indes Grisaille Eighteenth Century"
Porcelain plate of the Compagnie des Indes with Grisaille decoration. Scene of Resurrection. Eighteenth century, around 1750. Diameter 22.8 cm. Plate classed as extremely rare by the author. Reference: "The Porcelain of the Indian Companies with western decoration" by HERVOUËT, page 267, number 11.27. Mottahedeh Collection, New York. With the angel sitting on the edge of the tomb, Christ appears in all his glory before the fallen soldiers. Unlike other plates, this resurrection scene does not take the place of three little characters in the background. Very good state.
