"Pair Of Candlesticks In Gilt Bronze Empire Period"
Pair of candlesticks Empire period in finely chiseled bronze and gold matte and brilliant. The tapered casks, adorned with three stars and firebrands, surmounted by three eagles with slightly spread wings, end with four clawed feet, seating the whole on a circular base with the motif of water leaves, butts and palmettes. The binets decorated with pearls, arcs and caps rest on a gadrooned cup. The gilding is of very good quality. These candlesticks can be attributed to Claude Galle (1785-1815), bronzier among the most famous of the Empire period.
