"Little Secretary Louis XVI Stamped Nicolas Petit"
Small secretary inlaid rosewood in frames of purple and amaranth wood, highlighted by boxwood nets decorated with Greek facade. It opens to a drawer, a flap unmasking four small drawers and three lockers, and two leaves in the lower part. The amounts are canted and jumped. Stamped JME and twice N. PETIT, red royal marble top, bronze fittings and locks of origin, Louis XVI period. Usual restorations made, varnish buffers. Nicolas PETIT (1732 - 1791) received Master in Paris on January 21, 1761, will practice for nearly thirty years in his workshop located rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine at the sign of the "Name of Jesus", famous and prosperous there is produces a large number of furniture of any style.
