Artist: EZIO CECCARELLI Born in Montecatini (Italy), 27/07/1865 - Died in Volterra, December 1927 Very large glazed earthenware planter, with angels lying at each end, sets of garlands of fruits. Work in good condition of very large dimensions with a lot of cachet. Born in Montecatini (Italy) July 27, 1865 in a very poor family he will live in the year 1880 in Florence where he discovers his gifts for drawing and sculpture in the studio of the sculptor Ulisse Cambi then in 1881 he returns to the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence where he will follow the courses of sculptor Augusto Rivalta, Augusto Passaglia and Raffaello Pagliacetti. In 1883 he sculpts a bust "Dopo il rimprovero". In 1898, he won the first prize in the international competition of Turin with a Christ's head: "Ecce homo" and in 1900 he won the Gregoriano contest of Rome with "Noli me tangere". He participated in the Universal Exhibition of Paris in 1900 and 1904. In 1908 he won the project of independence monument of Buenos Aires. In 1910 he participated in the project of decoration of the bridge Vittorio Emmanuele in Rome. In 1920 he exhibited a "Cleopatra" at the Primaverile Fiorentina. He died in December 1927.
