COCO NUT COVERED
engraved with two cartridges, one of a monogram "HB", the second of a coat of arms crowned (to be identified) on a phylactery bearing the inscription "DUM SPIRO SPERO" ( As long as I breathe, I hope).
On the sides, under the fastenings held by lion's heads, carved masonic cartouches are engraved, one of the compass-square, "G" and the branch of acacia, the second, with level, rule, trowel and mallet.
The silver-rimmed lid is finely chiselled with palms, with a small coconut taken from two doves, an arc, quiver, arrows and a torch.
The theme of Freemasonry, love and hunting are recurrent themes in the Masonic representation of this period. Dimensions: 17 cm x 11 cm
