Painter of gender born in Bordeaux in 1848, he began his drawing studies in 1866 at the Municipal School of Painting. He left for Paris in 1872 and was admitted to the School of Fine Arts. Having returned permanently to Bordeaux in 1878, he took his place among Bordeaux artists and regularly exhibited at the Salons de Bordeaux and Paris, devoting himself to the art of portraiture and the subject of genre. He excels in the technique of pastel in which he is noticed by a personal invoice.
It is written in the Bénézit that he was a pupil of Delacroix.
Good condition. There is a very small gap in the lower left corner and a slight watercolor spot on the kimono near the character's foot.
