"Hsp. Edouard Febvre "blue Caravans Under The Snow""
FEBVRE Edouard (1885/1967) French painter. The painter of the saga of gypsies, sad suburbs, fortifications and suburban streets under the snow, carnivals. Imagery of a desperate, miserable figure, sometimes with more gay glow when he painted the Butte. At the Salon d'Automne in 1941, he exhibited "Effect of snow". His workshop was located in Montmartre at 8 rue Durantin. (Galerie ROUSSARD) Edouard Febvre is a French painter, watercolourist, pastellist and engraver. Passionate about the world of Travelers, he delivered a work where roam trailers and gypsies, in an atmosphere and frames that restore the misery, pride, gaiety and nostalgic melancholy of his models. The Paris of the poor, the fortifications, the area, Montmartre also captivated him, and his paintings in a falsely naive fashion give dignity and poetry to the rough daily poverty.
