Important time gilt bronze restoration clock representing Orpheus and musical instruments.
Great model of fine quality of carving, Orpheus is represented under the features of a young man wearing a laurel wreath and playing his lyre, among attributes symbolizing music: a pan flute, lyres, various instruments and a crown crossed by a flaming torch symbolizing the victory of the hero.
the base of the clock is decorated with a frieze showing the various elements described above and a frieze of palmettes at the base.
the body of the clock is adorned with a lyre surrounded by two swans and surmounted by two horns of plenty.
enamelled dial in very good condition.
