"Rare Surrealist Painting Vienna Goebel 1940 Wearing Sv Oscar Dominguez"
Rare Surrealist painting, oil on canvas double faced around 1940, representing a surrealist composition and a still life with the portrait, signed on both sides of the Viennese painter Goebel (Gottfried). It was during his exile in France during the Second World War that Goebel made this painting. His surrealist period, freely inspired by Oscar Dominguez lasts about ten years, before moving towards abstraction at the turn of the 60s. Our composition represents an interior scene, a character holding a glass of champagne of a hand and stylized furniture on the other, seems to converse in the company of a naked female character in the background. Authentic and rare work, mounted / nailed directly on a wooden frame.
