Coffee table in incase in rosewood marquetry, stamped and hallmark of Louis XVIII period. Two small lack of plating (See photos) CHARDON Bartholomew-Denis Barthelemy-Denis Chardon - Parisian carpenter, Master March 23, 1764. Received master in 1764, Barthelemy-Denis Chardon establishes his workshop at the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, rue Saint-Nicolas. It seems that his activity was short-lived. He produced Louis XV style furniture of good quality. Sofas, shepherdesses and daybeds are mentioned, usually caned and carved with care. You can see in the museum of Beauvais, a pretty cane chair, decorated with flowers.
