Jean-Baptiste-Bernard DEMAY (1759 - 1848),
Carpenter-cabinetmaker, passed Master on February 4, 1784.
He practiced for thirty years, rue de Clery.
From the beginning of his career, he got orders for the Queen's furniture. His mark is on the pretty flying chairs adorned with the figure of Marie Antoinette, who is at Petit-Trianon.
There are many works with the same imprint, including a graceful armchair owned by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and two chairs at the Montgolfière at the Musée Carnavalet.
