"A Régence Mirror Early 18th Circa 1700-1720"
Regence period wall mirror with a carved and gilded basswood pediment adorned with mercury mirrors mounted on a frame of maritime pine wood. The protruding pediment with cartridges is surmounted by a feminine mask, underlined with gadroons, acanthus leaves, garlands as well as openwork foliage. The shoulders are each topped with wicker basket overflowing with flowers and foliage, internally adorned with parts and others of angel heads and pigtails that arise from foliage to blossom into small flowers.
