Old Norman faience. Represents a pekinese lying down. Typical work of the filmont faience factory in Caen Measure 33cm in length It is about 1850 that the company J.FILMONT sees the day. She is the most important pottery of caen with regard to the animals and character of exterior of luxury. She creates models and molds by great sculptors. It innovates even in architectural ceramics, the potential is enormous. But just before the war in 1936, it ceases activity and in 1947 the models and molds are sold, one half to Mr ROGER HABIT of BAVENT and the other to the pottery of mesnil de bavent. The eyes are sulphide. The set is in very good condition
