A patinated bronze statuette representing the Greek philosopher Aristotle, after the antique. It rests on a varnished square wooden base.The model from which this work is inspired is the bronze statue of a philosopher discovered in the Villa of the Papyri in Herculaneum, and preserved today at the National Museum of Archeology of Naples. it is indicated that the identification of the piece represents Democritus, advanced in the early eighteenth century, has been questioned. The philosopher represented would then be Aristotle. Italian School of the first third of the nineteenth century. Very good condition. Total height: 27 cm X Width base: 10 cm X Depth base: 10 cm.
