Tool for divination of the Luba people, Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire).
The person and the diviner each held this object and rubbed it on a divinatory mat.
Here we have a beautiful representation of the Luba-shankadi style with the cacada headdress.
Very nice patina of use.

End XIX th early twentieth century.
Slight crack on one side of the base.
