"Purse Mother Of Pearl And Silver Period 19th Century"
This elegant mother-of-pearl coin purse is adorned with a chiseled silver plate. The interior has three compartments plus a fourth clasp. The side compartments each have a leather bellows in very good condition, allowing a greater lining. The interior trim in purple silk is in perfect condition, no shearing of the fabric including side gussets. Both clasps, inside and outside work very well. The main frame is silver and carries the French hallmark of guarantee: "boar's head" then the inscription: T & E PARIS, as well as the diamond-shaped punch of the goldsmith that I do not decipher. The main hinge also works very well. The silver decoration, in the style of the 18th century, is carefully decorated with foliage, delicate arabesques, flowers and a central cartouche bearing the letters SL. Note: an antique crack in the mother-of-pearl visible on a photo of about 20 mm, a small jump of mother of pearl on the back of about 2 mm also visible on picture. If in doubt, do not hesitate to ask for other details or other photos, I would be happy to inform you. It seems to me that this object is worthy of interest to enter for example in a collection on the subject of the wallet.
