A very nice Louis XVI style mantel clock in a glass cage, 16.5 cm enamel dial, with gilt half hour marks, Roman numerals for the hours, Arabic minute indications and gilt hands. Signed on the dial Lepaute a Paris. The dial surrounded with a Bow Ribbon and Laurel Wreath in Ormolu.
Mounted in a gilt bronze case with beveled glass panels to all sides. In the base a gilt bronze frieze representing putti creating a garland of love with wreathed flowers. The clock stands on a white marble plinth and on four round feet. The clockwork strikes on a bell, circa eight day duration. Good model and a nice size, in good original condition.
