Beautiful work of the painter René Seyssaud made around 1885 and representing washerwomen in a sunny street in the city of Auzon (Vaucluse).
The artist creates a luminous composition, with contrasts and plays of light.
Pupil of Pierre Grivolas at the School of Fine Arts in Avignon, his career takes shape when he meets the painter François Honnorat, art broker, who becomes his patron and his merchant. He attended the Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts, the Salon des Independants, the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Tuileries. He also exhibits in many galleries in France (Bernheim gallery ..) and abroad (Amsterdam, Barcelona, New York ..).
Landscape painter, René Seyssaud strives to show the landscapes of his region including the Vaucluse and the local life of its inhabitants.
Size: 41 x 65 cm without frame and 59 x 82 cm with its gilt wood frame (frame restorations).
