"Gilt Bronze Fireplace Trim With Cocks 4 Pieces Louis XVI Marble And Blue Glass"
Complete chimney and gilded bronze fireplace set composed of a pair of marble candelabra and a pair of blue Creusot glass vases. In addition to being a complete and matching garnish, our ensemble is characterized by the great originality of the subject with cock heads. They can be used as a fireplace trim or to furnish a living room and create a pendant at the fireplace by placing them on a dresser in front. This is a rare opportunity. * The pair of candelabra with 4 lights in white marble and gilded bronze dates from the end of the Louis XVI - Directoire period, late eighteenth century 1790-1800. In the shape of ovoid vases supported by a tripod base ending in rooster heads, connected together by gilt bronze chains adorned with pompons. From the top of vases with openwork collar in gilded bronze come out stems of rose bushes with natural candles. Very good condition, mercury gilding well preserved (slightly attenuated on the terrace). Complete set, it lacks a rosebud on one of the branches. * The pair of cobalt blue blown glass vases (Manufacture Royale du Creusot) dates from the end of the Louis XVI or early 19th century. The decor matches exactly the candelabra: same handles with cock heads connected by chains, same gilt bronze necks this time not openwork, variant at the feet which this time are square pedestals of Medici vases. Excellent condition for vases, no accidents with verrines, very fresh gilding without wear. Height of the candelabra: 50cm Height of the vases: 22,5cm Other objects available on www.gslr-antiques.com
