In 1903, twenty years old A. Barbier came to settle in Paris where he became the friend of Claude Monet, A. Marquet, Mr. Denis, Georges D'Espagnat . He exhibited at the Salon des Independants from 1903 to 1938 and at the Salon d'Automne and Tuileries then shows his works in solo exhibitions at the Galerie Durand-Ruel. He paints many landscapes of Paris, its suburbs, Normandy and the Riviera or Italy. The being is generous, altruistic, open-minded, passionate about music, astronomy and photography. His very personal technique proves his intimate understanding of the subtleties of Impressionism and his personal sensitivity to endless games of light.
