"Drawing XIXe : "
Many years ago, I bought this drawing with a signature / monogram unknown, but whose virtuosity seduced me. An esteemed colleague, has just published a drawing bearing a similar monogram with an attribution to Celestin Nanteuil, to check for mine! This bearded soldier resting, smoking his long pipe, relaxed, hand in the pocket, is treated with Indian ink, pen and brush, washed in places to give relief. 36 X 22,5 cm approximately, circa 1870, some traces of manipulation and tongues of fixing on the edges of the back. Do not hesitate to ask us by email or phone for additional information or photos.
