Alphonse Clément André Brondy, known as Mattéo Brondy, was born in Paris in 1886 and died in Meknes in 1944. He exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants from 1909. Sent to Morocco during the First World War, he settled in Meknes. His landscapes painted from sketches made during his many travels are executed in a quick touch and seem caught on the spot.
Listed in the Benezit and the little masters of Schurr's painting.
