This small desk in red tortoiseshell veneer and brass decorated with foliage, typical Boulle marquetry, dates from the Louis XIV period, very early eighteenth century.
It opens on 7 drawers and a leaf and rests on arched feet. The curved boxes have 3 drawers and the leaf is surmounted by a central drawer.
It owns his key and the locks of origin (that of the low drawer right is to be reviewed) In frame for funds, it is hardwood (rosewood?) for other parts.

This type of base early eighteenth, abandoning the tradition of 8 feet connected by braces (Mazarin) announces the Regency era and flat desks.
It is in perfect state of conservation. Light chips, restorations of use. Corbin of origin with marks of time. Posterior bronzes in the style of the time: falls, apron and clogs. Dimensions: W 85 cm / W 52 cm / H 82 cm
