This interesting portrait of a young Breton girl has unfortunately been cut to be mounted on a smaller frame, probably thus disappearing the signature ... The study of light, diffused against the light through the cap and thus chiseling the features of the face while highlighting the gold jewelry and "the Sunday costume" is particularly interesting and made me think of a "je ne sais quoi" of British ...
So I searched the library to find the pure excellent book "British painters in Britain" published by the Museum of Pont-Aven and I actually found familiarities, including Stanhope Alexander Forbes (1857-1947), but this is only a track, not an attribution !
