Albertus Seba (May 12, 1665, Etzel (Friedeburg in Germany ) - May 2, 1736, Amsterdam) is a Dutch zoologist and pharmacist, famous for his cabinet of curiosities. He was interested in mammals, birds, molluscs , insects and snakes. In 1731, he made an illustration of each specimen of his collection to edit the catalog of his cabinet which gave rise to Locupletissimi Rerum Naturalium Thesaurus, a work consisting of four volumes published between 1734 and 1765.
