"André Tondu: Nude Brunette Woman"
Canvas stretched on cardboard representing a naked woman standing. Very beautiful painting. Work shop, some parts sketched. A lot of charm and quality. Signed on the back of the canvas, visible in a reserve made on the cardboard. André TONDU French painter (1903-1980) is the student of Fernand Cormon, Emile Renard and Jean-Pierre Laurens at the School of Fine Arts in Paris. Winner of the Grand Prix de Rome in 1931 for his painting entitled Le Retour, he went to Rome as a boarder at the Villa Medici directed by Paul Landowski. André Tondu was appointed director of the National School of Fine Arts in Dijon.
