Object description :

"Galliot Goldsmith, 1819-1838, Sterling Silver Drageoir, French Restauration Period"
Medici-shaped drageoir, the plain body decorated with marine horses and busts of Bacchus, the handles adorned with rosettes and acanthus leaves, the lid surmonted by an acorn. It rests on a small pedestal decorated with friezes of water leaves and pearls.

Made by the Lyon silversmith Jean-Louis GALLIOT between 1819 and 1838, French Restauration period.

Solid silver (950/1000).

Weight, 0.94 pounds (428 grams).

Condition report, old little restoration on the catch.
