Albert Caullet (1875-1950) HST 74x99 cm Cows in the meadow. Signed lower right. Painter of genre scenes, animals, landscapes. Student of Van Leemputten at the Academy of Kortrijk where he became a teacher before becoming Director. From 1946 to 1949, he stayed in England where he executed landscapes and urban views oscillating between impressionism and romantic realism. He excels in the rendering of animals and is considered in this respect as one of the best Belgian painters of this period. A luminous athmosphere bathes his works. A retrospective at the Van Schone Kunsten Museum in Kortrijk took place in 1975 Present in many museums.
