Double Snuffer, Japanese Shakudo Or European Japonism, Beautiful Quality, Circa 1880

Rectangular, opening with two lid, this double box, probably a snuff box, has all of a Japanese work, or European Japonism of late 19thC period. Each of the lids, fit with silver, cloud shaped thumb piece, is decorated with a floral pattern and birds, in shades of gold, silver and copper .. The interior is adorned with a gilding on copper, particularly welcome ... The body of the box is thick copper, black patina..as Japanese patinas use to be .. The base of the box and the lids are adorned with a frame trompe l'oeil cord, probably in silver ..
Japanese working, or European Japonism, late 19thC, quite curious ! ..
Very good condition, just a little wear of use, and one of the lids does not close completely ..
