"Pair Of Andirets"
Pair of Louis XVI andirons in bronze. The asymmetrical decor of fire-pots covered with a garland of oak leaves and palm leaves. They rest on a square base, surmounted by a fluted column. The easel consists of two cast iron bars long enough to support the wooden logs. Brown patina of origin. (One can find a golden patina with a cleaning.) A small square of iron is missing under the front foot of one of the andirons. (See photo) Very nice work of the late eighteenth century.
