Large vase with iridescent and cloisonné decorations, 4 handles and signed on the body "Montières". This piece is listed in the work of Michel SOUCHON dealing with the manufacture of Montières, page 22, under the number 20 in the directory of forms. Realized around 1917, at the beginning of the creation and the purchase of the factory by Désiré BORCK, this piece was realized by Jean BAROL, confirmed potter, who took the artistic direction of the ceramic workshop. Former student of Clement MASSIER, he was one of the most famous ceramists of the late nineteenth century and early twentieth. Manufacture de Montières, circa 1917. Perfect condition. Height: 26 cm.
