China circa 1900 or even older, hand-modeled terracotta sculpture depicting a Putai or an opulent Buddha. Sitting in the lotus position, he holds his fat belly with both hands. His face has a blissful satisfaction, eyes half closed. This piece had a copper patina with traces on the back of the head and back. High density because there is no hollow part. Weight 2,400 kg for a height of 20,5 cm, width 16,5 cm. Good condition except some slight normal wear and small splinters (a more important at the base of the lobe of the right ear but not very visible).
