Georges Hanna Sabbagh (1887 -1951) was born in Egypt in a Syro-Lebanese family. In 1897, he took his first drawing classes in Cairo.
In 1906, he continued his studies in Paris. In 1910, he attended the Academy Ranson where he has for Masters Maurice Denis, Paul Sérusier and Félix Valloton.
In 1916, he married Agnès Humbert, daughter of Senator Charles Humbert, with whom he will have two sons including Pierre Sabbagh, the future man of television.
In 1917 first exhibition in Paris at the gallery Chéron. He also painted in Perros-Guirec where he stayed in summer from 1916 to 1936. He also stays in autumn in Crozant in Limousin and paints there many landscapes linking it to the school of Crozant. He exhibited at the Salon d'Automne, Independents and Tuileries. He exhibited in Paris at Bernheim, Druet and Weill from 1920 to 1936, then in Belgium, Egypt and Switzerland. It is exhibited in many museums, in France, Cairo, the United States.
