"Secretary In Wardrobe"
Wardrobe secretary from a large Parisian cabinetmaker's workshop of the reign of Louis XVI, as evidenced by the choice of essences and the perfection of its realization. It was, in fact, made of mahogany, and mahogany veneer on oak, with extreme finesse. The oak used for the frame comes from the same tree. The closing of the flap is ensured by a lock with pump, with three points of closure, vintage like the three keys which make it possible to maneuver it as well as those of the drawers. The mirrors that decorate the doors of the upper part are also vintage. The cabinet has four secret drawers which are as carefully finished as the exposed drawers, with perfect dovetail arrangements. All these details sign the work of a famous Parisian workshop, even if the furniture does not bear a stamp.
