Former Parisian Maison specialized in luxury items, combining bronze, champlevé enamels and Algerian Onyx Marble. Eugène Cornu, sculptor-decoratorbecame thedirector of the Company of Algeria Onyx-Marble formerly headed by A.Pallu &Co and its successor G.Viot. After his death in 1875, H. Journet became the company's leader and gave it his name. Eugène Cornu's creations were exhibitedin London World's Fair in 1862, 1871 and 1872 and 1867Paris World's Fair where he receveid a gold medal for an important pair of Onyx bronze and enamel vases. Company presented atthe 1876 Philadelphia World's Fair and the 1878 Paris World's Fair. The Company of Algerian Onyx Marbles produced works from models of Albert Carrier-Belleuse, Charles Cordier and Louis-Alfred Barrias. Its shops were settled in 1878 at 24 Boulevard des Italiens, in Paris.
