John Boydell, born January 19, 1719 in Dorrington Lane (Shropshire) and died December 12, 1804, is an 18th century English publisher and engraver specializing in engraved reproductions. He helped to redress the imbalance in the engraving trade between France and England and was at the origin of an English engraving school. He was also Lord Mayor of London.
