"Cartel Applique Vernis Martin Epoque Louis XV Stamped With I. Dubois"
Large wall cartel and its lamp base, in polychrome lacquered wood decorated with bouquets of flowers on a brown background with rich ornamentation of chiseled and gilded bronzes decorated on the front of a peacock in branches, leafy scrolls, staples and openwork flowers and foliage at amortization. Curved enamel dial on a white background with Roman numerals, gold and openwork engraved brass needles. The dial bears the signature Lenoir in Paris, The movement works (the pendulum suspension modified in the XXth Century) This Cartel is stamped by I. Dubois on the three parts for Jacques Dubois received master on September 5, 1742. This cartel was repainted under Napoleon III only the interior door kept the original Martin varnish. We decided to leave this cartel in its "home" state, the bronzes can be dismantled and cleaned.
