"Pair Of Nubian Plant Holders Or Stools XIXth Century In Carved Wood"
Rare pair of Napoleon III period planters or stools in carved and partially gilded wood, blackened for the faces, representing kneeling Nubians carrying a load. Each rests on a round molded base. The characters are finely sculpted and very realistic. They face each other, making these two supports a real pair. They are capped with a round tray also molded, which can be lined with foam and covered with fabric.
