"Henri Valensi (1883-1960) "
Very nice gouache by Henri or Henry Valensi, signed, titled and dated "La paix 1954" in the lower left. Format without frame 24x32cm. It is therefore a beautiful musical composition by Henri Valensi dated 1954; as usual he plays with geometric figures, circles, broken lines ... evoking a rainbow, all in a very lively and colorful palette, superb! I present only succinctly Henri VALENSI, famous French painter, recognized first of all for a first figurative period of landscapes with fawn tendency which he paints with hatched touches in an already colored palette. Subsequently his work will evolve towards abstraction while retaining a figurative line. In 1912, he managed and organized the Salon de la Section d'Or alongside Jacques Villon, Pierre Dumont, Jean Metzinger, Albert Gleizes, Raymond Duchamp-Villon, Marcel Duchamp and Francis Picabia. He presents Moscow the saint there. In 1932 he was one of the forerunners of the Musicalist movement alongside Charles Blanc-Gatti, Gustave Bourgogne and Vito Stracquadaini, where music therefore played an important part in creativity. He will therefore be one of the leaders of this movement with Kupka, Del Marle, but also subsequently Louise Janin, Jean-Marie Euzet, Klausz or Lempereur-Haut. Today this great theoretical painter is sought after by many amateurs all over the world, his results on sale prove it with substantial prices. This gouache is in good condition, I just point 2/3 flakes in the upper part, but not really affecting the reading of the work, however, this can also be restored easily, I can even possibly take care of it to realise. Delivered well framed in a modern baguette and marie-louise. Authentic guarantee
