Gustave Patriarche : "farm In Saint-jean d'Avelanne"

Gustave Patriarche (1909-2001) produced oils, gouaches and watercolors almost everywhere in France and the Maghreb, in a spirit bringing him closer to painters of Poetic Reality, colorful but nevertheless subtle, dealing with landscapes, nudes or representations of Small Trades of 'a tender and amazed look.
I start with this watercolor depicting a farm in Saint-Jean d'Avelanne in Isère measuring 32 X 35 cm, dating from 1940.
Characteristic, the exterior staircase leading to the living floor above the stable, the animal heat warms farmers.
Presence of many light rednesses not interfering with the reading of the image which is mounted in a master key 50 X 65 cm.
