Miniature portrait of Emperor Napoleon 1st in uniform of colonel of the Grenadiers de la Garde. Drawing on cardboard in black pencil and stump enhanced with gouache and watercolor, signed in the middle left Isabey. Jean-Baptiste Isabey (Nancy 1767-Paris 1855) pupil of David was designer of the cabinet of his Majesty the Emperor. Solid mahogany frame, gilt bronze hooping. The back has been protected by an imitation leather sheet. Very good state. Dimensions: -frame: 15cm x 13cm -drawing: 8.5cm x 6.5cm
