Large early twentieth painting representing a mountain landscape in the Alps painted by Luc BELIN (1878-1959) Joseph Louis Lucien BELIN dit Luc BELIN was born in the Gard and took over the workshop of Eugène DAVID-GUÉRIN in LYON after having made his studies in fine arts. He exhibited from 1913 to 1959 at the SLBA and outside the competition in 1924, which gives us the date of this painting bearing the label HC54. He received several awards including that of Bernhin de Villers in 1932, SLBA medal of honor in 1932. This painting represents a woman at the well in a village with the mountains in the background. Superb setting light, the paint is treated very realistically and the colors are bright. The details give the atmosphere of a life at the time in the mountain villages.
